Egon Schiele - Woman in Red, Standing

Egon Schiele was born in Austria in 1890 and is known to have been one of Gustav Klimt’s protégés. His artwork became most famous for its sexuality and raw intensity including naked self-portraits of which there were many. His style is generally considered early expressionism thanks to his dramatic and striking lines as well as the strangely contorted and gnarled shapes.
